So I've been working for some time now on a formula for cream soap. Yes, actual cream soap. The kind that usually takes months sitting around in buckets, bowls, jars or what not "rotting" (curing). But as they say, "ain't nobody got time for that!"
The picture to the right shows my latest test batch. It will be ready to test tomorrow. Yep, after just 10 days of curing. So far testing for this formula has gone very well. And if tomorrows test goes as I expect that it will, then we will be offering a gentle, foaming facial cleanser on our website very soon.
Just to clarify, this is NOT whipped soap. It does not contain any surfactants. It is a made from scratch true soap such as cold process soap that utilizes both sodium and potassium hydroxide and goes through trace and saponification just like cold process soap does. It is an entirely different animal from whipped soap. Both are wonderful products individually and each has their own lovely characteristics but they are also quite different from one another.
I can't even tell you how anxious I am to get some of this in my hands tomorrow and run to the sink. I'll be counting down the minutes until tomorrow even when I can quit work and jump into the show with a little jar scented in 7 Sins From Sunday!!
